This week I went over how animals weather they are pets or livestock can affect out prepping needs.
Remember that if you do have animals, you should have a plan in place for them as well. You will also need to make sure you have enough supplies like food water and medicines for each animal.
If you fail to do so then the livestock isn’t going to do you much good. If you raise them for your family to eat, then you should already have enough supplies for them.
One way to make sure they have water is to have a well in place with a renewable energy source such as wind or solar and have a battery system big enough to run the pump for the well.
You should also get a manual hand pump for your well weather the well is solely for your animals or not, You just might need to use the same well.
Don’t forget that your dog and sometime even a cat can become as asset. There are programs that will train animals to be able to detect certain smells. Now you can try this yourself if you don’t want to invest the money into the training but you won’t be able to train them with everything.
The things that you wont be able to train them on are things like explosive’s, drug’s, dead bodies and stuff like that.
