So we are in the home stretch of getting out of 2020, this year has been a rough one all around. Between the Covid-19 and the election this year, things have been quite hectic. I have been very busy, between work, home life and training to become an app developer, I have been too short on time.
But I have just about finished up the training class. I have actually been working on an Android app, I have finished one very simple app that I found a walk through on YouTube about but the one I have wanted to do for quite some time will take a lone time.
So I’m sure everyone has already heard about the explosion in Nashville, TN. There are some reports of there being gunfire before the explosion. From what I have heard in a news report, there was a call out about gunfire before the explosion.
Then there was a recording that came in about a bomb. Minutes later the RV blew up. They are still trying to determine what all happened. There was one report of them finding human remains within the blast area.
This was a bad thing to happen on Christmas of all days.
Covid-19 Update
Here in the States, we have surpassed 329,000 deaths. I know there are a lot of folks out there that believe the virus is fake and all but it is a real thing. Do I think it has been blown out of proportion? Yes and No.
I have had friends and family get the virus, and they were fine, some breathing issues and but it wasn’t too bad.
I have taken 3 test all together, all negative. Two of those tests were taken just 2 days apart. The first test was in Ohio when I got back from vacation after getting sick when I made it to where we were going on vacation.
The last two were just a few weeks ago. I decided to get tested due to losing sense of smell, taste, body aches, short of breath but no fever. I was not a fan of the 2nd test I received. It was quite painful. More pain than what I would have thought.
Well as soon as the test was taken I was able to leave but I had put my mask back on after the test swab was out of my nose. I felt like I had a runny nose. I didn’t think anything of it.
When I got to the car I realized I was feeling a bit light headed, when I took my mask off at the car that is when I realized why. I had actually bled quite a bit. I bled out of both nostrils and down the back of my throat.
I ended up with two mouthfuls of blood and the mask was soaked. I borrowed that mask from the wifey and she wasn’t happy about that. I ended up getting blood all over my face, shirt, neck, hands and a little on my pants.
Also got some on the door of the car when I took the mask off it splashed off the concrete and onto the bottom of the car door. I was not happy. I had went back inside because I wasn’t able to get the bleeding to stop, but I would have had to check back in. This was done at the ER.
I didn’t want to wait in line again, so I asked for some paper towels and after about 10 minutes the bleeding did stop, but I felt a bit woozy. I ended up eating some snacks I had brought with me and after about 30 minutes I felt better so I went back home.
I started running a fever the following day, still having a hard time breathing and couldn’t smell or taste. The results didn’t come in until 2 days later. During that time the wife and kids ended up sick as well.
I was a bit worried about having a false negative due to reading an article about heavy nosebleeds during the tests affecting the outcome. So after the wife and kids got sick I decided to retest especially since I was running a fever.
The wife and I were the only ones that got tested. She is pregnant and needed to know for her next Dr. appointment. After going through what I had went through a few nights prior I sure did not want to put my kids through that.
But this last test I received was nice. It was very easy compared to the last one, it didn’t hurt at all.
I had to wait longer for these test results, it took 4 days to get these. I couldn’t go back to work until I got the results in. I was also still running a fever so I couldn’t go to work anyways because I would have been sent home.
Thankfully we were negative for the virus. I still had issues smelling for about 4 days after the test came back negative.
I hope everyone has had a good year, or as good as it could be with all that has happened.
Maybe next year will be a better one. Or maybe this was our Last Good Year? Time will tell.
