Do you ever test your skill’s? Do you practice making a fire? Do you ever go camping?
If you don’t practice your skills, you could find yourself in a bad situation. Things happen every day that we can not control, accidents happen and vehicle’s break down. In most case’s, help is usually a phone call away. But, that isn’t always the case, you could find yourself broke down in the middle of no where with no cell phone reception. That is never a fun thing to go through, whether it be summer or winter, it can become a horrible situation.
If you go camping, that is the perfect time to practice your skills, you can try out different way’s to start a fire, or even leave the tent packed away and try to practice your shelter making skills. If you can try different way’s of doing things each night you are out camping, you can begin to perfect your abilities. There are multiple way’s you can make a shelter. Find the way that works best for you!
One helpful tool to always have while camping is a compass and a map of the area that you’re at. Even with a compass and a map, you could still get lost. If you do not take the time to understand how a compass works, or what all can affect the reading of a compass, then all it is is extra weight and wasted space. But if you do take the time to learn how to read a compass, then that will come in handy one day. Another way to determine directions is through astrology, if you learn how to read the stars that is.
Some folk’s like to go “camping” in their RV, but that’s not the way to do it in my opinion. Although it is much more comfortable than the hard uneven ground, you don’t get to get closer to your natural state, with our day-to-day lives, our careers can become quite stressful at times. It has been proven that if you were to go out into the woods for a week, away from technology and all the stresses of your daily lives, that it helps your body reset itself.
