There have been a few new apocalyptic movies and shows to come out here recently and I have watched 3 of them so far. I don’t really do reviews over movies and shows, but I felt like I should. I’m curious to see if you have seen any lately that catch your attention?
I have just finished watching the first season of the Netflix Original called “Black Summer” and I must say that I was pleased with it. There are a few different reason’s why but I don’t want to put any spoilers our there just in case you have not watched it yet.
I’m not a big fan of the Zombie flicks but I figured I would try watching one episode of it. Needless to say, I binged the whole first season. That is not something I ever do. I don’t usually have much time for TV, and I did in fact burn through the time that I had set aside to write an article for this week, so I figured I would go ahead and write one about the Black Summer!
Maybe my lack of time management will help you decide what to watch next?
I did enjoy how it went over each persons timeline from the same day and how they intertwined. I won’t go into to much detail, but a lot of the other Zombie stuff I’ve watched previously didn’t really go into the backstory of each of the main characters.
As with other Zombie flicks you don’t have to be bitten to “Turn” it was already inside us. Now there are a lot of different things that come to mind when I think of a global outbreak of sickness, but that’s for another time.
There were some parts of the series that really shown how people really are, or at least how I would imagine how people would be in that scenario. People aren’t always good.
As far as corny goes I didn’t really think there were any outrageously corny parts of the show. There were a few parts that I thought were just plain stupid, I’m sure you’ll agree once you see them.
The episodes ran for about 33 to 38 minutes. I was not a fan of the ending episode. I figured there would have been more to it.
All in all I think it was worth my time and I think that you might enjoy it. Like I had mentioned before, I am not huge on the Zombie stuff, but I did enjoy watching the Black Summer!
